Professional Development
It seems counterproductive to me that so many great professional development conferences are held during the school day. I for one, do not want to miss my classes for any reason. The amount of time wasted to me is something I can not justify. So I am currently looking for some professional development conferences or courses that can be done online, or on the weekend. I understand most don't want to attend at these times, but for me it would be time well spent. Let me know if you know of any great conferences, regarding Social Science, technology in the classroom or other great teaching strategies that are offered in this format.

The ICE conference is not online, but its worth it. Usually Late Feb and early March. You get endless ideas and so much useful information that lasts for years. You pick and choose your sessions, based on your needs; just be ready-its information overload. www.iceberg.org
ReplyDeleteAlso, http://www.globaleducationconference.com is an annual online global 3-day PD free conference. It's happening right now. I tried it...it's okay...I can't seem to get into it, but it still seems like a good resource, when multiple educators from around the globe get to share and discuss education resources online, all at the same time.
